A National Seminar on “Insurance for All by 2047” was organized by Thiruvananthapuram Insurance Institute on 16 January 2024 at the Aquatic Biology Seminar Hall, University of Kerala, Karyavattom, Thiruvananthapuram. The programme commenced with the III Anthem, followed by the welcome address delivered by Sri Arunkumar V. S., Assistant Professor, Department of Demography.
Dr. Anil Chandran S., Head of the Department of Demography, delivered the presidential address, while Sri S. Premkumar, Senior Divisional Manager, LIC of India, Thiruvananthapuram Division, inaugurated the seminar. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. R. Vasanthagopal, Professor and Head, Institute of Management in Kerala.
During the inaugural session, Sri S. Premkumar felicitated Sri P. Venugopal, Sri Anoop Michael, and Dr. P. Mohanachandran Nair, Emeritus Professor, Department of Demography, University of Kerala. Dr. Anil Chandran S. felicitated Sri H. Mohan, and the vote of thanks for the inaugural session was delivered by Dr. Sandeep G., Assistant Professor.
Following the tea break, the technical session commenced at 11:30 AM. Kum. I. Latha, Council Member of the Insurance Institute of India, introduced the Institute’s professional courses and the seminar theme. The technical sessions were led by Sri P. Venugopal, Former Secretary General, Insurance Institute of India; Sri Anoop Michael, Head of Actuarial Services, Allianz; and Sri H. Mohan, Deputy Manager (Retd.), New India Assurance Company Ltd. The vote of thanks for the technical session was delivered by Smt. Brinda Vijay, Lecturer.
The seminar witnessed an enthusiastic response, with the hall filled to capacity and more than 120 participants attending the programme. The event successfully promoted insurance awareness, professional education, and meaningful discussions on achieving the vision of “Insurance for All by 2047.”
