A National Seminar on “Insurance for All by 2047” was organized by Thiruvananthapuram Insurance Institute on 27 July 2025 at the LIC of India, Divisional Office, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram. The seminar commenced at 10:00 AM with the III Anthem, followed by the welcome address delivered by Sri Saran M. U., Hon. Secretary of Thiruvananthapuram Insurance Institute.
Sri B. Ajish, Chairman of TII and Senior Divisional Manager, LIC Divisional Office, Thiruvananthapuram, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the importance of creating insurance awareness among students and the general public.
Sri Ajul Raj P. N., Regional Manager, New India Assurance Co. Ltd., Ernakulam, delivered the keynote address on “Insurance for All by 2047”. He highlighted India’s insurance penetration, which is currently below 3%, and explained the significant protection gap that exists in the country.
Following this, Sri Leju T. Balan, TP Hub In Charge, New India Assurance, Ernakulam, presented a session on the latest amendments to the Motor Vehicles Act, explaining insurers’ responsibilities and key considerations in third-party policy underwriting.
Sri Vinod V., Senior Surveyor, Thiruvananthapuram, conducted an informative session on common mistakes in insurance claim filing and the factors that lead to delays in claim settlement. He emphasized the crucial role of agents and surveyors in ensuring the accurate completion of claim forms to improve customer satisfaction and reduce processing delays.
The seminar was well attended, with the hall filled to capacity and more than 80 members actively participating in the programme.
